Julie & Jérémie's Engagement

On the same day as Jessica & Devin's sunrise engagement shoot, it's now time for a sunset engagement (and family!) shoot. We met on a chilly beach of their choosing in Shediac, NB, and after a quick look around, I already knew I would be getting cold feet by the end of this one. And I do mean that in the most literal sense possible.

Surprisingly enough, everyone was more than happy to kick off their shoes and sink their toes into the cold, wet sand (this was Sept 30, after all, right in the middle of when NB makes its annual rapid transition from Summer to Winter weather, because what is Fall anyway?). After having some fun with the whole family, we narrowed down to just Julie & Jérémie, and explored the rocks a little.

The sun was setting before we knew it, and unfortunately, once again it disappeared behind some thick clouds before it could bestow its majesty on us (and our photos). In which case I switched over to artificial lighting and took some "pretend sunset" shots to round out the evening (sorry for ruining the magic, but those last 6 pictures had almost no sunlight at all!).

And because I wanted an epic sunset over the water shot, one way or another, I waded out into the bay and made the most of our pretend sunset.

As I walked back to the car in my bare feet, and then scraped off the cold sand and waited to get feeling back in my toes while my car warmed up, I happily reminded myself that the wedding would be in June ;)
