Meike 85mm f/1.8 Review

Now that you’ve heard my thoughts on the new Meike 85mm f/1.8 AF STM, feel free to take a minute to browse some image samples. We’ll start out with our romantic content: first an engagement shoot on the beach at sunset! This was one of my more difficult shoots with this lens. When the subject is back lit, you have almost no chance of focusing with AF, so eventually most of these shots were taken using manual focus.

And now a couple of beautiful weddings.

There were a Lot of images lost to missed autofocus, unfortunately. Next up is our cat’s eye bokeh test.the narrowest aperture used here was f/4.

Then let’s go to a rehearsal of Shakespeare in the Park. Here, due to the lack of romantic dreaminess going on, the odd colours of this lens are more apparent.

And then a little cuteness with some amazingly high quality bokeh.
