Olivia & Remi’s Wedding at Fox Harb’r Resort - Nova Scotia Wedding Photographer
Take a drive with me to Fox Harb’r resort in Nova Scotia - about two hours from Halifax, sitting on the shores of the Northumberland Straight. A golf course (or two?) with its own landing strip is quite the location, and it turns out a lovely place to have a wedding. The weather was just perfect that day, which was a nice change of pace from all the rainy weekends that lead up to this one. Today I was joined by the talented Kelci Wood as my second shooter, and general expert in all things golf and Nova Scotia.*
We’ll start the day with bridal prep at one of the many lovely homes for rent on the Fox Harb’r property. We were actually there for just a Little bit of prep time, but still managed to squeeze in a lot of action in a short window.
Then we headed down the street to the house where Remi and his crew were getting ready. They were pretty much ready to go when we got there, so I’m hate to admit that we had to fake a bit of prepping … which is something that happens more than you might think. I find that when showing up to the groom’s group, they’re either a) barely awake and still in pyjamas, or b) totally ready and unaware that they didn’t really need to be just yet, and really very little in between 😂
An A for preparedness today, though!
Then we headed to the end of the road for the beautiful ceremony site, sitting on a little bluff overlooking the straight. The sun was hot and high by this time, but the whole atmosphere was incredibly beautiful, and the celebration was a joy to behold. And an eagle eyed observer might find a very rare photo where I make an appearance in this section.
Then after the ceremony it was time for the ‘formal photos’, which are sometimes formal and sometimes anything but. Everyone was looking incredibly fancy today, so we decided to throw in a little bit of Vogue group photos, along with the usual process of working the space and the landscape to find the best shots in the moment. Finishing off with some classic water shots - thanks to Kelci for throwing some rocks to add a little splash to that part of the day ;)
Then it was finally time for the reception! The party was both classy and unrestrained, and in the middle of it all we ducked out for a few sunset photos, marking the end to a perfect wedding day.
Congratulations Olivia and Remi, and thanks for inviting us to take part in your beautiful wedding day at Fox Harb’r!
*Okay I’m from Nova Scotia, but I hardly know the first thing about a golf course 😏
