Jessica & Devin's Wedding

With the summer flying by, it was finally time for the first wedding of August: Jessica & Devin’s. Having done their engagement shoot, I already knew it was going to be a fun and laid back day. Jess, her bridesmaids, and her family were all ready to just enjoy the day, and live their best lives. In a big room near the top of the Crowne Plaza in Moncton, the celebration started early, and didn’t stop for the rest of the day.

Everyone was ready just a little early (don’t look so shocked - I swear it does happen sometimes!), so we headed over across the street to the newly completed rink at the Avenir Centre (at the time known only as the Downtown Centre), and played around for a few minutes in the concrete jungle, before everyone piled into the limo to the ceremony site.

Family and friends filled up Wedgewood Hall for the quick but moving ceremony, including a colourful sand pouring at the end. Oh, and excellent job at mixing that sand, guys. You’d be surprised how difficult that actually is. I’m not even kidding. If you’re planning on doing one at your wedding, you might want to practice it in advance, or ask them for some tips ;)

Back to the limo, we hit the road for a whirlwind photography tour! Our first destination was downtown at Victoria Park. By this time the sun was finally shining, and we began with some family and group photos. Unfortunately the sun didn’t stick around for long, but we more than made do - even making use of it, getting some moody cloud shots at the end.

Thankfully no one was taking any of this terribly seriously, and we all had a blast at the park.

Next up we headed over to Bass Pro in Dieppe. I was a little concerned that we’d get kicked out of the store for causing a ruckus (because of course we were going to cause a ruckus). But as we entered the staff greeted Jess and Devin with open arms (both literally And figuratively), as she used to work there, and they were pretty proud of their girl that day. Which was awesome, because we got some super unique pictures inside. Always great to go somewhere new!

Then we headed around to the other side of the building to check out Chapters for a few minutes. Both Jess and Devin love hanging out there, so it was great to have another meaningful stop (you don’t need to have proposed somewhere for it to have meaning, it just has to be a part of your life in some way!).

Then finally a quick stop in to Starbucks for some refreshments. I assume that because she was the bride they made an extra effort to put the correct name on her cup for once ;) (my cups usually say some variation of Russ or Russel…but I’m more than happy to drink Russel’s PSL, so NBD).

And next thing you know, we’re headed back to Wedgewood Hall for the reception. Hilarious speeches and moving dances, then moving speeches and hilarious dances, the evening and the party rolled on.

Congratulations, Jess & Devin, and thank you so much for letting me take part in your fantastic day!
